Vincent C. Parise '00

Vin Parise '00, is currently the Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Parks & Recreation in the City of New Rochelle. He is also a college basketball analyst and contributor throughout the winter months for Fox Sports and SNY television. Vin can also be seen and heard making guest appearances during the college basketball season on CBS Sports Radio, WFAN Radio, CBS 2 News and NBC New York. Before solidifying himself in both the worlds of local government leadership and college basketball media, Vin’s roots began on the campus of Iona College. After serving as a student assistant within the Iona College Athletic Department from 1996-2000, Vin was a member of the men’s basketball coaching staffs at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Rutgers University from 2000-2004. He would then return to New Rochelle and serve as an assistant coach at his alma mater from 2004-2008, culminating with being a part of the 2006 MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. As Deputy Commissioner of Parks & Recreation, which oversees the Hugh Doyle Senior Center, City Youth Bureau and New Rochelle Marina, Vin helps direct a staff of over 50 employees that serve thousands of adults and children annually, as well as partner with hundreds of organizations and agencies within Westchester County to better the lives of New Rochelle citizens. Since the beginning of the 2020 COVID Pandemic alone, the Department of Parks & Recreation has delivered over 14,000 meals to New Rochelle senior citizens and served over 600 local children through free after-school programs and recreational activities.

Always passionate about giving back to his local community and beyond, Vin has intimately been involved as a volunteer or board member for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Coaches CURE CF, The Jodie Torigian Charitable Fund, Habitat for Humanity, New Rochelle Boys & Girls Club, Westchester County Youth Board, Iona College Goal Club Board and the Friends of New Rochelle Parks Foundation. Vin has also been an adjunct instructor with the Hofstra University Continuing Education Department, as well as the Iona College Graduate School of Sports Communication & Media. Vin lives in New Rochelle with his wife Amy ’03 MST, Iona Prep Director of Alumni Relations & Special Events, and their three young sons; Dylan, Cole and Ryder.
