Mentor Programs

Alumni Mentoring

Once an alumnus completes the Iona Edge Career Advising program, alumni are paired with an alumni mentor in their field of interest. In a challenging economy the legacy of Gael helping Gaels is an important part of being an alumnus. To find out more about the career advising, view the Career Advising page or to become a mentor, please fill out the Gaels Mentor Form.

Student Mentoring

Mentors have an enormous impact on our student body and it is an important element of an Iona education. The legacy of alumni giving of their time, talent and treasure is so valuable.  Whether it is a one-on-one talk, a cup of coffee with a student or joining us for the Meet a Career Mentor event, we appreciate your time and commitment to Iona students.

Learn more about our annual Meet a Career Mentor event:

The Iona College Offices of Alumni Relations, Career Development and Student Development host an annual Meet a Career Mentor event in November. The offices collaborate with the deans and department chairs to provide a unique opportunity for current Iona students to connect with our alumni. This event enables students to engage in discussions with alumni on the following topics:
    • career and industry trends;
    • tips for obtaining internships and entry level opportunities;
    • professional skills and etiquette expected by employers; and
    • how flexibility can equal opportunity.

If you are interested in being a student mentor, please fill out the Gaels Mentor Form.

If you have internships at your company for current students, please contact Elizabeth Faia Orgera at efaia@iona.edu.
