The Iona College Campus Quad

Kathryn Staudt ’13

Iona provided Kathryn with opportunities for success during her time as an undergraduate student, not only through valuable extracurricular events that she was able to take advantage of, but also by providing access to the Iona alumni network to begin her career in financial services.

In her junior year as a finance major, Kathryn began her internship with the Gartland & Mellina Group, a management consulting firm based out Manhattan and co-founded by Iona alumnus Al Mellina. This internship led to a full-time role with the firm that spanned five years, seeing her growth from analyst to manager. She transitioned over to Royal Bank of Canada in 2018, taking a position as a program manager within the US Capital Markets' chief operating officer’s team.

Kathryn likes to spend free time volunteering, recently serving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House, raising money for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, and coordinating a toy drive at a women’s shelter in Jersey City, N.J. In May, she will provide support on the Knights of Malta’s annual trip to Lourdes, France.

She is proud to accept Iona’s Brother Robert A. Durning Rising Star Award in May 2019 and will continue Brother Durning’s commitment to lifelong learning by joining the Alumni Board!
