Kyle Byrne '15, '20MBA

At Iona, Kyle Byrne majored in mass communication with a minor in speech communication studies. During his time at Iona, Kyle was the president of Iona College Television, a Student Campus Minister, director of the Kairos 9 (K9) Retreat, as well as a member of the Tara Knights Society. He is also a founding member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.

Graduating cum laude, Kyle was inducted into the mass communication and speech communication honor societies, and was the recipient of the Julia Freedman 2015 Commencement award, the Edmund Rice Leadership award and was a DeFeo Family Scholar.

After graduating from Iona, Kyle moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina to teach English and Media Studies at a private school for two years. Upon his return to the U.S., Kyle landed a job as a news producer for Verizon FiOS 1 News in New York. After deep personal reflection, Kyle realized his true passion is working in higher education. In 2017, Kyle found himself back at Iona College as an undergraduate admission counselor. He serves as the counselor for students applying from New England as well as all international students. In 2020, Kyle received an MBA in management from Iona and began a second role at the College as an adjunct professor in the speech communication studies department.
