Iona University Maroon & GOLD Council

The Maroon & GOLD (M&G) Council is a leadership organization dedicated to fostering and sustaining relationships with graduates of the last decade to keep them engaged and actively involved with Iona University.

Kayla Kosack-Haughton, J.D. is a member of the Class of 2017, Secretary for the Iona Alumni Association Board of Directors, and Alumni Representative for the Board of Trustees. Most recently Kayla has assumed the role of Chair of the Maroon and GOLD (Gaels of the Last Decade) Council. Kayla has a significant passion for Iona University and their alumni as she recalls many times throughout her undergraduate experience when alumni mentored and directed her on the path she continues down today. It is Kayla's hope to provide those same opportunities for other Gaels.  As such, Kayla seeks to develop a council that represents Gael Nation and engages young alumni in new, exciting ways to build the Iona network.

Recently, Kosack graduated from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and is pursuing a career in investigations and law. In addition, Kayla coaches the Iona University Mock Trial team where she works closely with Iona students interested in law and connects with alumni in the legal field as the Tournament Director for the American Mock Trial Association hosted by Iona.

Kayla's primary goal as chair is to create programs that serve all Gaels across the world with a specific focus to engage alumni from all experiences and walks of life so that all Gaels truly feel like they never have a last day at Iona.
