Women of Achievement Award Recipient

Flory Netsch Hiatrides graduated with honors from Iona College in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and earned her MBA in Management Information Systems in 1986.

Flory’s diverse background, spanning more than 25 years, integrates business, technology, sales, education, coaching and wellness. She has gained extensive experience in professional facilitation and curriculum development in such areas as business leadership, technology literacy and organizational development.

Later, Flory completed advanced doctoral work in Organizational Development at the Stevens Institute of Technology and in Education Administration from Fordham University. While completing her MBA, Flory founded EEI, a strategic consulting and training firm, which, over the course of 20 years, she grew to a 90-person corporation providing over 50 different services ranging from basic technology instruction to leadership development at the highest level. Under Flory’s leadership, EEI’s annual revenue reached $7 million. In 2001, she sold her company but remained president until 2003 and continued to provide strategic consulting for the organization until 2011.

Always passionate about learning and sharing her knowledge with others, Flory continued her work while raising her family. She provided coaching as a holistic health counselor and facilitated professional development seminars for the Brookfield School District in Connecticut. Currently, she is a highly-rated and well-respected adjunct faculty member in Iona College’s CIS department, where she takes a practical approach to instruct students in leadership, management and technology. Flory’s continued focus on education and learning at all levels is evidenced by her establishment of the Charles E. Netsch Endowed Scholarship at Iona College in honor of her late father. Through her career, Flory has worked with a wide range of clients including the New York Stock Exchange, Citibank, AXA Financial Advisors, BASF, International Paper, The College Board, US Airforce Pararescue, Hofstra University, and, of course, Iona College.

In 2017, with a commitment to helping individuals achieve success in both their personal and professional lives, Flory founded TreeHouse Consulting, Inc. She is currently creating a leadership and professional development program that embodies her personal motto: You bring who you are to everything you do.

Using the principles of the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator® (MBTI) and Emotional Intelligence at its core, Flory’s program focuses on personal awareness and how that critical understanding lays the groundwork for success in everything we do. She is currently developing a program called “Beyond the Bench: A Life Skills Program for Collegiate Athletes,” with a focus on BALANCE and these areas of development: Bounce-back ability, Awareness, Leadership, Accountability, Nutrition, Communication and Essentials. In her newest adventure, she is working with Triple T Hospitality as they open a series of restaurants called Tio Taco & Tequila, currently in New Jersey.

Flory presently lives in Brookfield, Conn., with her three children: Jamie (18) and twins Bella and Chaz (15).
